Covid 19 Guidelines

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

When you come for an appointment with me, I will be following government and professional protocols for cleaning, hygiene and ventilation practices. It’s really important to me to keep you, myself and our broader community safe during this difficult time. Even though the protocols are quite formal, please rest assured that I will try to ensure that this will not take away from the peaceful and welcoming environment I always try to create.

It’s important that you are aware that as a family we are not without contact with the wider world, so I am also testing with lateral flow kits twice weekly. I hope this offers you some reassurance.

How Welsh Government and Professional body guidelines affect my practice are as follows:-

I will send out a Covid 19 screening text, or email 48 hours before treatment for you to send back to me.

If you are booked in for a treatment, I would ask that you really check in with how you are feeling.  If you develop any of the following symptoms, you must cancel your appointment;

  •   A new persistent cough

  •   A high temperature

  •   A loss in normal sense of taste or smell.

I will also cancel all treatments if I become ill with any of those symptoms.

If you need to cancel last minute for Covid 19 related symptoms or if you have been contacted by the Test and Trace system or have been in contact with anyone who has become unwell with Covid 19, I will not charge you for any usual cancellation fees to support you in not attending your appointment.

When you come for treatment please remember:-

  • Your own water

  • A pen

  • I do not have a bathroom attached to the treatment room, so where possible, I’d be grateful if you could use the bathroom at home or work before you come to your appointment, so as to keep our contact just in the garden and treatment room.

On arrival for your session, I will need to check your temperature.

Prior to physically treating you I always need to complete a consultation. As I need to minimise the time I see you indoors, I can either offer the consultation in my garden, or by zoom, or telephone, depending on what you would prefer.

When we go indoors I will provide a IIR mask for you to wear. I will be wearing a visor and IIR mask at all times when in the treatment room and will need to wear gloves when treating your chest, neck, head and face. Unfortunately, these are mandatory requirements for any close-contact service in Wales (unless you are medically exempt from wearing a mask), but my experience is that it all feels easier and more comfortable than it reads.

After treatment, I will leave you to rest and come round and then we can meet outside to process the treatment and discuss any aftercare.

These guidelines just allow me to treat you with time and calm presence in mind, whilst minimising time spent in physical contact inside. If you are not happy to be outside, I will have to provide a shorter physical treatment session, but am happy to complete initial consultation and aftercare by zoom, or phone.

If you become ill within 2 weeks of receiving your treatment, I would be grateful if you could let me know immediately.   I will comply fully with the test and trace system, which means that I will hold the contact details of all of my clients in accordance with regulations so that I can minimise the risk of passing Covid 19 on to anyone. The details that I hold are in compliance with GDPR and I continue to make sure that all of your personal details are kept safe.  Please confirm with me that you are happy for me to use your details for these purposes.

Just to say, I am taking extra care when treating anyone considered to be clinically vulnerable. If any of the following apply to you, I would be grateful if you could ring me to discuss your situation. My telephone number is at the bottom of the page.

Many Thanks. Megan
